Project description

Kurrajong Avenue is the crucial component in completing the final stage of construction in Griffith City Council's Heavy Vehicle Southern Industrial Link (Heavy-vehicle bypass). The road is narrow, with sub-standard pavement and poor drainage, with frequent high maintenance for potholing, and heavy patching due to pavement edge breaks, cracking, shoves and rutting. General safety is compromised in the roads current state.

Rehabilitate, widen and strengthen the pavement to a 7 m sealed traffic lane and 2 x 2 m sealed shoulders and intersection treatments. Improve longitudinal drainage, vegetation trimming and signage to accommodate the upgrade of pavement to HML and general public vehicle use, completing the Heavy vehicle bypass around the Griffith CBD.
