Project description

Road is 6 m wide and is a RAV4 Heavy Vehicle Route that travels through to middle of the Capel Townsite. The road is too narrow to cater for heavy vehicles resulting in vehicular conflicts. The road is not kerbed and has primitive table drains with piped driveway crossovers.

Reconstruct and widen to 8 m inc kerbing, drainage, footpaths, bus bay. Includes intersection upgrade at Spurr St and inclusion of SBS stop opposite car park at Capel Country Club.

The timber girders which support the 15m long timber running surface are in poor condition due to their age, water damage and some infestation from white ants.Proposed works include the removal of the existing timber girders and timber deck and replace with reinforced box culverts and undertake some minor roadway approach works.Total cost of proposed project is $304,884

Existing pavement is severly depleted of pavement material.Nominal pavement width to be increased to 4m. Renewal of low standard pavement with minimum 80mm fine crushed rock.Total cost of proposed project is $34,622
