Project description

Cambridge Parade experiences high speeds on the approach to the intersection resulting in reduced ability for vehicles from Melville Terrace and Arnold Streets to safety turn out. The existing sight distances from the side streets are compromised. The works include a new threshold treatment west of intersection including a “40” pavement marking. The 40km/h speed zone will be extended beyond the intersection. The intersection geometry and kerb lines will be amended to slow turning vehicles into Melville Terrace and installation of a new pedestrian refuge on Melville Terrace. Source of additional funding is Brisbane City Council.
