Project description

The existing infrastructure on Sheedy Road does not meet the requirements for the future urban environment and community. The Project is critical in supporting the urban growth developments and will meet the following future community needs: • A road form and character that meets the urban design guidelines for the land-use function of the future residential area, • Infrastructure for pedestrian connectivity from the new communities to the Virginia town centre, • Adequate road surface for vehicle movements, • Adequate stormwater management system for the urbanised environment, • Adequate street lighting for the urbanised environment.

• New sealed road surface with a 7.6m wide carriageway (from kerb face to kerb face), • New kerb and water table • New 1.5m wide footpath, • New stormwater infrastructure, • New street lighting to urban residential design standard, • New verge between the back of kerb and footpath. Balance of project cost will be funded by council.

Total cost of proposed project is $5,882,319
