Project description

Unsealed roads with material loss and poor road formation are slippery when wet, corrugations / potholes appear and the rate of further road deterioration is increased. This results in heavy vehicles, buses and other road users leaving the roadway, potentially getting stuck, vehicle damage and near misses.

Resheet with a minimum 75mm depth of crushed rock or limestone. Shape road formation to improve roadside drainage, 4-6% crossfall and a minimum 5m pavement width plus shoulders.

Pages Road, Grove, Tasmania - 060164-15TAS-RTR

The existing road is deficient in strength and is breaking up in sections.To replace the existing drainage and culverts. Milling and stabilisation to a depth of 200mm, 120mm thick layer of compacted finely crushed rock and finished with a two coat seal.

Adavale Black Road (Rural Road) - 060167-15QLD-RTR

Unsealed road is subject to flood damage. Not suitable for tourist traffic.Upgrade to sealed standard

Sedan Road (rural road) - 060168-15QLD-RTR

This section of Sedan Dip Road is 2km of 6m wide unsealed black soil road. Sedan Dip Road is one the shire's arterial roads (linking the McKinlay and Cloncurry Shires)and is mainly subject to heavy vehicle movement (livestock industry)as well as tourist traffic. The unsealed sections of this road consistently requires extensive maintenance to maintain a safe trafficable status and is continually subject to restoration works following wet weather events (often impassable for at least 2 weeks at a time). Sealing segments of this road greatly enhances this road's all-weather status limiting disruptions to travelling public and pastoral industry traffic(heavy vehicle livestock movement/access).Formation and seal of 2km of 6m wide unsealed black soil road. The starting point for the 2km section of works on Sedan Dip Road to be approximately 32km of the Link Road intersection with Sedan Dip Road. Works to include re-instatement of shoulders, road markers, grid replacement (where necessary) and appropriate signage.Total cost of proposed project is $500,000

Kyabra Road (Rural Road) - 060169-15QLD-RTR

Sections of road are unsealed and do not cater for heavy traffic along this major arterial road.Upgrade to sealed standardTotal cost of proposed project is $1,729,646

Braemore Road Leonora - 060170-15WA-RTR

Movements of heavy vehicles including earthmoving equipment has resulted in ongoing maintenance issues where significant increase in maintenance grading has been required to maintain a suitable surface. Existing seal (0 straight line kilometres to 0.216 straight line kilometres) deteriorated. Dust has been an ongoing problem affecting nearby residents with these increased traffic movements. Two creek crossings present access issues in wet weather to nearby residents and heavy vehicles that frequent the road dailyThe 1216m proposed for sealing will be reconstructed by way of consolidating existing formation, gravel resheeting, waterbinding and finished with seal, with kerbing works to first 216m where existing kerbing and seal exist. Two creek crossings will be concreted to allow/improve all weather access.

Hell Hole Gorge Access Road (Rural Road) - 060171-15QLD-RTR

Access to gorge is limited by poor standard of existing road and lack of directional signage for tourists.Further upgrade formation to gravel road (stage 2), install additional directional and safety signageTotal cost of proposed project is $150,000
