Project description

This road is a critical freight and community access route essential to the town of Loxton. Stormwater issues currently affect the road, which will be addressed through the construction of a swale and stormwater pipes to mitigate flooding during rainfall events. At the Kokoda Terrace and Starcevich Road intersection, several serious accidents have occurred. The construction of a roundabout will enhance road safety for all users.

This upgrade involves an intersection junction that merges seven roadways and aims to improve flooding issues during significant rain events. Located on a heavy vehicle freight route near a new childcare centre, the intersection at Kokoda Terrace and Starcevich Road has experienced vehicle accidents. Proposed works include kerbing along Kokoda Terrace to enhance stormwater management, road redesign and reconstruction, pavement resealing, and the construction of a roundabout to improve overall road safety. Council/s contribution: $393,000.00

Total cost of proposed project is $1,180,000
