Project description

This section between Great Northern Highway and Sayer Street is in need of renewal. It has a surface condition rating between 5 out of 5 based on the 2020 road condition survey. There is also evidence of subsidence following the drainage works completed along this street.

Profile off 30 mm asphalt wearing within 1 m width from the face of kerb, followed by an overlay of the entire section and apply 7 mm emulsion primer seal and lay 10 mm new Stone Mastic Asphalt wearing.

The timber girders which support the 15m long timber running surface are in poor condition due to their age, water damage and some infestation from white ants.Proposed works include the removal of the existing timber girders and timber deck and replace with reinforced box culverts and undertake some minor roadway approach works.Total cost of proposed project is $304,884

Existing pavement is severly depleted of pavement material.Nominal pavement width to be increased to 4m. Renewal of low standard pavement with minimum 80mm fine crushed rock.Total cost of proposed project is $34,622
