Project description

The roundabout at the intersection of Everglades Avenue, Youle-Dean Road was constructed during the development of the Brabham District in 2017. An increase in traffic volumes is observed with the development of the completion of the Brabham District Stage 3 residential development south of the roundabout and the Whiteman Park Station West of the roundabout along Drumpellier Drive. In addition, it is expected that the road hierarchy of Youle-Dean Road would be upgraded to service the increased traffic. Extensive cracking has already been observed on the southern half of the roundabout and a rehabilitation treatment is required to rectify the pavement issues. Cores extracted have revealed the current pavement was constructed as a single layer limestone pavement lacking a high-quality base material to withstand current and future traffic volumes.

Remove brick pavers and flush beams to match current road level, in situ foamed bitumen stabilisation to a depth of 290 mm, profile off top 40 mm material, apply 7 mm granite primer seal, and lay 40 mm new asphalt concrete wearing.
