Project description

Junction Rd is a category 3 road providing access for freight movement south from Robertstown Rural areas to Thiele Highway, Eudunda Rd and Sturt Highway. During wet periods the creek at Junction Rd can run up to 2 metres deep and 40 metres wide and requires significant remediation work to make the floodway passable to traffic. Traffic is required to deviate 10km around the flooded section of the creek.

A new concrete floodway is to be constructed over the creek at Junction Rd consisting of three components - a 10 metre unsealed road approach, 20 metre long by 5 metre wide concrete deck with a 3% crossfall and a 10 metre unsealed road approach. The additional funding of $5,980 is to be provided from Council cash reserves.

Total cost of proposed project is $65,980
