Project description

Bower Boundary Road is an Unsealed Category 3a road providing access for primary producers in the Bundey area south from the sealed Goyder Highway area to the sealed Thiele Highway area and south to the Murray Bridge processing area. The existing road surface has reached the end of its life and requires renewal.

Reforming of existing road surface, importing and spreading road base. Re-shaping and cleaning of drains and culverts and reformation of the intersections to accommodate turning movements of 26 metre vehicles. The road specification is to be 8.5 m wide, 100 mm pavement thickness and 4-6% cross fall. Additional funding of $24,540 required to fund the total project to be provided from Council sourced rate revenue.

Total cost of proposed project is $124,540

Little James Street is no longer adequate for the volume of traffic, as the road is currently narrow the road suffers from edge break. There is no control over stormwater at the moment, the stormwater is scouring the edge of the road and driveways.Little James Street will be fully reconstructed and widened to 7.5m from the existing 6m and kerbed on both sides to control stormwater run off. And 10.5m wide sealed footpath will be constructed.
