Project description

North Booborowie Rd is a high maintenance open surface road with daily traffic volumes averaging 100 vehicles per day. The existing road alignment and shape is poor with several corners requiring re engineering of the radius and crossfall. The road is the main north/south connection of the Canowie area linking the township of Booborowie with the major arterial road of Wilkins Highway. It is a commodity route for 26m B doubles carting grain, hay and wool. Heavy vehicle usage increases during the seasonal harvest times.

The road will be upgraded to a high standard open surface road by improving the horizontal and vertical geometry of the roadway and increasing the road to a width of 11 metres. The existing drainage will be upgraded and multiple culverts will be replaced/upgraded. The road will be sealed to a width of 8 metres. Additional funding of $372,769 required to fund the total project to be provided from Council sourced rate revenue.

Total cost of proposed project is $672,769
