Project description

The full section of the road is in need of renewal and require kerb and gutter and stormwater drainage upgrade. Significant surface course failure and water is infiltrating the base layer due to inadequate drainage system.

Road rehabilitation work includes road widening and reconstruction work for a length of 180m (entire road) and a width of approximately 9m. Work includes mill and fill of 100mm of deep lift asphalt concrete base layer and 50mm of wearing course. Work also includes installation of kerb and gutter, stormwater drainage upgrade and provision of a new footpath.

As with previous stages the road is too narrow for the increasing volumes of traffic. The pavement is poorly aligned and in need of a complete reconstruction. There is a lack of formal stormater drainage and pedestrian access.Widen & realign the road over a distance of 430 metres at a width of 8.0 metres kerb to kerb. Provide kerb and gutter, stormwater drainage. Provide footpath on both sides. Install guardrail as required. Construct log and sandstone retaining walls to retain excavated areas. Reconstruct property accesses to flatten the grade.Total cost of proposed project is $682,268
