This project will rectify existing structural road defects. These defects include significant structural and environmental cracking, high Roughness, and rutting. The project will also rectify the existing kerb and gutter in poor condition. The work involves a deeplift asphalt treatment up to a depth of 125mm. The existing road will be milled up to a depth of 125mm and replaced with asphalt. The kerb and gutter is also being replaced.Total cost of proposed project is $732,862
Road pavement has deformed and failed due to increasing traffic, particularly heavy vehicles.Reconstruction of road pavement and installation of kerb and channel.Total cost of proposed project is $397,000
The road pavement is being final sealed or resealed as per Council maintenance protocols. The entire section of pavement will be spray sealed and appropriate sized stone applied. In some instances emulsions or micro seals may be applied.
Existing bridge is in poor condition with a two tonne load limit which is inappropriate in a rural area.Replace bridge with concrete box culverts.

The road (Lower Hotham - rural road) has several sections that are either cracked or rutted or have depressions or combinations of the same, which allows water to pond on the road surface which is dangerous to the driving public and further the water seeping into the road pavement generally leads to further road damage . The sections requiring repair are located between straight line kilometre 1.3 and straight line kilometre 10.1.The corrective works involve the laying of a specialised asphalt layer to correct the depressions which impair the ride quality of the road and are a precursor to resealing as the road profile is restored to its original form as opposed to being deformed. These repairs will extend the life of those sections of the road and we can thus avoid expensive reconstruction work.
There is a section of Days Road (rural road) that currently does not exist from Straight line kilometre 4.43 to straight line kilometre 5.53. This has resulted in a situation where there is no direct access to Crossman Road and is a risk due to bushfires. And no direct into town. This work involves constructing the last section of Days Road exist from Straight line kilometre 4.43 to straight line kilometre 5.53, distance of 1 kilometre, to a gravel road standard and includes culverts and fencing items and we have already relocated some Telstra Ducts which were in the way of the road.
The unsealed shoulders of this section of road is too narrow and dangerous, creating safety issues for the public as the number of vehicles using this road is increasing.Widening the existing sealed narrow section of road approximately 3.10km from 3.6m to 6.5m wide.Total cost of proposed project is $630,000
