Major Projects Business Case Fund

The Major Projects Business Case Fund (MPBCF) initiative supports the development of robust major project business cases for nationally significant projects and enables the Commonwealth to engage early with states and territories in planning processes to ensure broader Commonwealth objectives are considered as projects are developed.

In the 2023-24 Budget, the Australian Government committed an additional $200 million over 2 years into the MPBCF.

Wyuna Road (Rural Unsealed) - 058053-15NSW-RTR
Pavement is slippery in wet conditions due to unsuitable material progressing through base causing safety concerns.Re-sheet pavement to a depth of 100mm to improve strength and access ability.
Black Springs Road (Rural) - 058054-15NSW-RTR
Reseals are undertaken to maintain the impermeability of the pavement, ensuring that water cannot permeate into the road resulting in damage to the pavement.Reseals involves spraying a bitumen surfacing over the existing surface. A reseal will last on average 10 years before it needs replacing.
Church Street, Mudgee - 058056-15NSW-RTR
The pavement is in very poor condition with block cracking an numerous pavement failures resulting in shoves and potholes.. The pavement is significantly out of shape resulting in ponding of water and other drainage issues.It is proposed that the full width of the road is rehabilitated, pavement upgraded by modification of the existing pavement material and overlay where necessary.

Narrango Road is located to the east of Rylstone township in the southern end of the shire and serves as access to a rural community. The pavement is in very poor condition with numerous pavement failures resulting in some significant shovesIt is proposed that the road be rehabilitated , overlaid with pavement material to strengthen the pavement and surfaced using a spray seal.

Road is very narrow with no kerb and guttering, the road shoulders are very degraded, the road surface is potholed and patched.Road reconstruction, asphalt overlay, patching and kerbing in sections.
Walkers Lane, Healesville - 058071-15VIC-RTR
The existing bridge has an ageing steel beam and timber deck structure and forms a vital access link for the community. It is necessary to replace elements of the existing structure which will be completed in two stages. This is Stage 2 of a project started in Roads to Recovery 2009-2014 (Project 9). Stage 1 involved preparatory on-site works to cater for the future bridge construction.Stage 2 involves replacement of the existing bridge structure with a new concrete construction, width varies between 10-12 metre with a 20 metre span, that will meet current day traffic loadings. A pedestrian walkway is also to be provided on the bridge structure.
