Washed out pavement mostly in steeper section of roadRehabilitation of 500m of sealed road at different location.
Sites;
0+300 Km, 0+400 Km, 0+600 Km & 2+000 Km
During the wet season water crosses the main road causing major washouts, requiring constant repair to keep the road open.The proposed work will consist of two elements. They are:
a) Install two (2)450mm storm water pipes and head walls under road at the T section and the low point on the highway, and;
b) Raise the road level 200mm for 600 metres. This will be 300 meters either side of the T Section.
Multiple pavement failures have been observed along the road. Potholes and asphalt cracking are also present. Kerb and gutter maintenance is required due to soil movement and damage by vehicles.Excavation and replacement of sections of kerb and gutter, Asphalt profiling, scrap coating and reseal up to 100mm thick.
Serious longitudinal cracking in slurry seal and replace kerbing and upgrade of stormwater drainage.Profile out old slurry seal and replace with new hotmix. Upgrade stormwater pipe from 100mm to 300mm and install new kerbs.
Rehabilitation of the existing pavement as it has reached intervention level, it is described as being in very poor condition with serviceability now being affected and increased maintenance costs.Work will be carried out to resurface the pavement with a new layer of bitumen and wearing aggregate (stone) (Length 400m x Width 6.2m)
The kerb and channel is old and not functioning properly causing storm water build up.The kerb and channel is old and not functioning properly causing storm water build up.
Replacement of a 250m section of kerb and channel. This section has been identified as requiring renewal based on condition and prioritised based on condition assessments. A small part of Freeman Street is also included to allow for connection into an existing side entry pit and to match into invert levels.
