This project is located on one of the bends on Milikapiti Road (an unsealed rural road)and is also located at a low point at the same location. This is a dangerous situation with two known car accidents occuring one a vehicle roll over. The work proposed is to raise and superelevate the road through the bend over a distance of 400 metres and to install 1200 X 600 box culvert under the road to convey stormwater from the high side of the road (east) to the low side (west)Other associated drainage will be included such as inlet and outlet structures as well as erosion protection

The current condition of this road can be difficult at times, especially in the wet weather seasons when the dust component of the road either bogs into mounds that non-4 wheel drive vehicles would have difficulty in driving through or runs off leaving large open dangerous cracks.Construct, stabilise and prepare for seal and complete required drainage, signage and guideposts.Total cost of proposed project is $2,500,720
