Booleroo to Pekina Road (Rural Road) (District Councils of Orroroo Carrieton and Mount Remarkable) - 042942-11SA-RTR
The current road is unsealed and very narrow (only 7 metres wide in some sections). The road has an undulating vertical and horizontal alignment, restricting sight and traversing several watercourses, which often cause closure of the road, due to flood damage. The work proposed includes improving the vertical and horizontal alignment of the road, using the existing road reserves and minor land acquisitions. It is also proposed to instal 31 culverts to accommodate watercourse crossings, widen the road to 11 metres, seal the road and increase the design speed from 80 kilometres per hour to 100 kilometres per hour. The project will run over four years from 2011-12 to 2014-15 and be funded with $768,000 out of the Special Local Roads Program for 2011-12. $375,000 will be provided out of the Financial Assistance Grants and $393,000 funded out of the Roads to Recovery grants.Total cost of proposed project is $4,070,000
Ferries McDonald Road (Rural Road) (Rural City of Murray Bridge) - 042973-11SA-RTR
This project will complete the final section of a north-south regional transport corridor designed to facilitate freight movements across the region. This section of the road is currently unsealed and is not fit for purpose to B-Double standard. Funding of $1.4 million was provided out of the Supplementary Roads to Recovery Program in 2005-06 for this project, however, final approval for the project to be completed has only recently been provided by the Commonwealth Department of Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities (DSEWPaC). Requirements put in place by DSEWPac for completion of the project include changing the physical geometry at each end of the road that goes through the Ferries McDonald Conservation Park and installation of appropriate signage. These measures have added an additional 0.7 kilometres to the project, now totalling 12.4 kilometres and the delay in obtaining these approvals has resulted in the total cost of the project increasing from the original $2.1 million to $4.9 million.Work proposed includes upgrading the vertical and horizontal alignment and sealing of the 12.4 kilometre section of road as well as re-arranging the road alignment at both the north and south ends of the Ferries McDonald Conservation Park to enforce drivers to slow down and stop prior to proceeding through the park. The road surface texture will also be altered through the park and signage and other visual cues (entrance walls) will be will be constructed. The project will be completed over three years.Total cost of proposed project is $4,900,000
Old Aerodrome Road (Rural Road) - 043023-11NSW-RTR

The surface becomes slippery and potholed or corrugated depending on weather conditions and is dangerous to the travelling public. This road links the outer northern residential areas of Griffith to the Aerodrome, Golf Club and East Griffith. Some land acquisition is required before Old Aerodrome Road is to be constructed and sealed to a width of 7.0m and a length 1.65km with associated drainage works. Construction is planned over a longer period to suit weather conditions and to achieve optimum quality of construction and sealing.Total cost of proposed project is $384,847
