Wrights Road (Kellyville) - 047041-12NSW-RTR
extensive cracking, potholes and poor shapeto undertake deeplift patching, crack sealing and full width resurfacing
Williams Road (Rural Road) - 047053-12VIC-RTR
The corrugated steel culverts in the road have failed from the weight of the heavy vehicle trafficReplacement concrete culverts are to be installed to carry the loads of the heavy vehicles.
Booleroo to Pekina Road (Rural Road) (District Councils of Orroroo Carrieton and Mount Remarkable) - 047054-12SA-RTR
The current road is unsealed and very narrow (only 7 metres wide in some sections). The road has an undulating vertical and horizontal alignment, restricting sight and traversing several watercourses, which often cause closure of the road, due to flood damage. The work proposed includes improving the vertical and horizontal alignment of the road, using the existing road reserves and minor land acquisitions. It is also proposed to instal 31 culverts to accommodate watercourse crossings, widen the road to 11 metres, seal the road and increase the design speed from 80 kilometeres per hour to 100 kilometres per hour. Funding approved in the first year of this project (see Project 042942-11SA-RTR) saw planning, pegging, survey, design works, major materials contracts, rubble blasting and concrete drain works completed. In the second year of this project for the District Council of Orroroo Carrieton, Council will complete road works to seal the road in accordance with the work proposed above.Total cost of proposed project is $4,070,000
Benayeo Road, Benayeo - 047056-12VIC-RTR
The road surface is narrow, rough and uneven. This affects the trafficability and safety of the road which is a haulage route for farm trucks and also a school bus route. The section of road will be reconstructed for a total length of 900m. The existing surface will be ripped and crushed and pavement material added to give an overall pavement width of 6.8m. The surface will be prepared and sealed with bitumen for a width of 6.2m A final wearing sealed surface will be applied in December 2013 on the road for a length of 900m and a width of 6.2m to protect the road formation from water, provide drainage and create a non skid surface
Hanson Road - 047059-12WA-RTR
Old timber bridge decking and abutment collapsing requires replacementInstall new concrete culvert 6 metres wide, construct headwalls nad render to waterproof
Ferries McDonald Road (Rural Road) (Rural City of Murray Bridge) - 047060-12SA-RTR
This project will complete the final section of a north-south regional transport corridor designed to facilitate freight movements across the region. This section of the road is currently unsealed and not fit for purpose to B-Double standard. Funding of $1.4 million was provided out of the Supplementary Roads to Recovery Program in 2005-06 for this project, however final approval for the project to be completed was not provided until the start of the 2011-12 financial year by the Commonwealth Department of Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities (DSEWPac). Requirements put in place by DSEWPaC for completion of the project include changing the physical geometry at each end of the road that goes through the Ferries McDonald Conservation Park and installation of appropriate signage. These measures have added an additional 0.7 kilometres to the project, now totalling 12.4 kilometres and the delay in obtaining these approvals has resulted in the total cost of the project increasing from the original $2.1 million to $5.5 million.Work proposed inclues upgrading the vertical and horizontal alignment and sealing the 12.4 kilometre section of the road as well as re-arranging the road alignment at both the north and south ends of the Ferries McDonald Conservation Park to force drivers to slow down and stop prior to proceeding through the park. The road surface texture will also be altered through the park and signage and other visual cues (entrance walls) will be constructed. The project will be completed over four years.Total cost of proposed project is $5,500,000
Bald Hills Road (Rural Road) (District Council of Mount Barker) - 047061-12SA-RTR
The current road design and construction is not fit for purpose, due to increased land development, use by cyclists and the construction of a new interchange with the South Eastern Freeway. Problems with the existing road include a number of large trees close to the existing edge of the road, affecting road safety, restricted sightlines at road intersections along the road, poor or no provision of shoulders, poor delineation of the road at night, poor stormwater infrastrcture and subsoil drainage, insufficient seal width to cope with growing and expected volumes of traffic, poor pavement strength and ride quality. The proposed works include upgrading the existing road, including increased road widths, provision of a sealed shoulder, improved junctions at Hartman, Green, Scarborough, Burnbank and Davison Roads, new roundabouts at Old Princess Highway and Springs road (to be funded separately), improved provision for cyclists pedestrians and a range of other features including road lighting where required. A new South Eastern Freeway interchange is also proposed at Bald Hills Road to alleviate transport pressures from other interchanges in the area.Total cost of proposed project is $8,300,000
Progress Street Kaniva - 047062-12VIC-RTR
The section of road is rough and uneven with poor drainage. This section of road is within the urban area and provides access to residential housing. It also provides access to grain storage. As part of the project a 200m section of footpath will be constructedThe section of road will be reconstructed for a total length of 440m. The existing surface will be ripped and crushed and pavement material added to give an overall pavement width of 8m. The surface will be prepared and sealed with bitumen for a width of 8m A final wearing sealed surface will be applied in December 2012 on the road for a length of 440m and a width of 8m to protect the road formation from water, provide drainage and create a non skid surface. In order to solve the drainage problem kerb and channel will be constructed for the length of the road. Also as part of the project a 200m section of footpath will be constructed.Total cost of proposed project is $214,894
Murray Street (Metropolitan Road) (Town of Gawler) - 047068-12SA-RTR
Murray Street was removed from the State's arterial road network and transferred to council in 2004. In the years following this change, Council have embarked on a program of upgrades and alternations to the road aimed at reducing the impacts of through traffic, particuarly heavy commercial, with a view to improving safety and restoring a pedestrian friendly characteristic to the main retail centre of Gawler and surrounding districts. The work proposed for 2012-13 represents Stage 5 of the works for Murray Street. This project has been funded in previous years (2007-08 and 2009-10 to 2011-12)out of the Special Local Roads Program - Financial Assistance Grants and Supplementary Local Road Grants, providing a total of $1.415 million. Stage 5 of the works include footpath works on the western side of Murray Street between Calton Road and Bridge Street.Total cost of proposed project is $660,000
Newlands Lake Road Apsley - 047074-12VIC-RTR
This is an urban road to be upgraded to a sealed road in line with the council plan of sealing urban roadsThe existing surface will be have pavement material added. The surface will be prepared and sealed with bitumen for a width of 6.2m. A final wearing sealed surface will be applied in December 2013 on the road for a length of 320m and a width of 6.2m to protect the road formation from water, provide drainage and create a non skid surface
