The project will deliver a two-lane overpass at the intersection of the Augusta and Copper Coast Highways on the Port Wakefield Highway. This project will also duplicate the Port Wakefield Highway through the town of Port Wakefield, and construct a new link road to Balaklava Road.
Narrow pavement width inconsistent with remainder of road. Failure of pavement.Widen width of pavement to make consistent with remainder of corridor. Remove seal from existing pavement and regulate/strengthen. Construct new base course to full width and place primerseal.
Failure of pavement, inconsistent surface and poor drainageRemove existing seal, regulate existing pavement and strengthen for sub-base, construct new base course and place primerseal.
Pavement failure, inconsistent width compared to remainder of street.Widen existing pavement. Remove existing seal. Regulate existing pavement material. Construct new base course. Place primerseal.
The rubble surface has worn out exposing the natural earth base. The earth base becomes soft causing boggy conditions and uneven surface. Vegetation has overgrown the road edges causing access issues for farming equipment traversing the road.Trim back vegetation in accordance with approved Vegetation Management Guidelines. Three kilometres will then be re-sheeted with Limestone rubble to provide a hard trafficable road.
Narrow formation, narrow pavement, narrow seal, weak pavement, poor drainage.Final seal to reconstructed section, to complete the construction.
