** WA Special Bridge Project **Some timber sections to be replaced by steel beams , some timber sections will be steel Reinforced. The bridge deck will have a reinforced concrete overlay and new steel guardrail will be installed. The proposed construction dates are estimates at this stage. Works are to be conducted by Main Roads WA. This project will also be funded by the WALGGC and Main Roads WA.Total cost of proposed project is $250,285
Widening the Tone River Bridge on the Boyup Brook-Cranbrook Road to a 6.0 m wide 2 lane bridge. Curently it is a single lane bridge 4.2 metres wide constructed in 1925. The Boyup Brook-Cranbrook Road has subsequently been sealed and is being upgraded to a minimum 6.0m wide sealed standard. The bridge lies on a curve and handles multiple road trains daily carting woodchips to the Bunbury Port.Perform design and preconstruction activities.
The project replaced bridges at Big Horse Creek and Little Horse Creek crossings on the Victoria Highway, with new high level bridges and upgrades to the approach road to improve flood immunity.
The project involved approximately three kilometres of pavement reconstruction on priority sections of the Cunningham Highway between Mutdapilly and Warrill View.
The project involved pavement widening and strengthening of approximately 30 kilometres of narrow and rough pavement on the Flinders Highway between Hughenden and Cloncurry.
The project included strengthening and widening of around 15km of rough and narrow pavement on the Landsborough Highway between Morven and Kynuna.
The project involved safety upgrades to improve sections of the New England Highway between Warwick and the Queensland/New South Wales border.
Safety treatments included:• Pavement widening;• Shoulder widening and sealing;• Overtaking lanes;• Intersection upgrades;• Guardrails; and• Improved delineation (line marking and signage).
The project has duplicated 3.2 kilometres of single carriageway and installed safety fencing and barriers on the Bass Highway between Westbury and Exton. The project also lengthened existing access ramps and installed audible line marking, safety barriers and lighting on Illawarra Main Road. Edge line delineation was also upgraded at six locations on the National Network.
Additional road safety upgrades to the Bass Highway at Latrobe have also been completed, including signage and pedestrian accessibility to the Moriarty Road roundabout, Bass Highway; improvement to driver visibility and sight lines by regrading and raising the road at the Gilbert Street (Mersey Main Road) junction with the Bass Highway; and channelised right turn facility on the Bass Highway into York Street junction and channelised right turn facility on the Bass Highway into the Wattle Hill Service station’s northern access.
