Australian Privacy Principle 5 Notice

Your submission, including any personal information supplied, is being collected by the department for the purpose of seeking public and industry comment on the approach and content of its proposed cost estimation guidance, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (the Privacy Act).

Your personal information will be stored securely by the department. It may be used by the department to make further contact with you about the consultation process. Your personal information will not be disclosed to any other third parties, except in the circumstances outlined below.

Submissions, in part or full, including the name of the author may be published on the department's website or in the Government's response, unless the submission is confidential. Confidential submissions (including author name) will not be published. Private addresses and contact details will not be published or disclosed to any third parties unless required by law.

Submissions will only be treated as confidential if they are expressly stated to be confidential. Automatically generated confidentiality statements or disclaimers appended to an email do not suffice for this purpose. If you wish you make a confidential submission, you should indicate this by ensuring your submission is marked confidential.

Confidential submissions will be kept securely and will only be disclosed in the following circumstances:

  • in response to a request by a Commonwealth Minister;
  • where required by a House or a Committee of the Parliament of the Commonwealth of Australia; or where required by law.

The department may also disclose confidential submissions within the Commonwealth of Australia, including with other Commonwealth agencies, where necessary in the public interest.

Kintore Community Access Road - 104703-19NT-RTR
The unsealed road between 4.20 - 9.11 km is wearing and has not survived very well due to excessive amount of oversize rocks in the local gravel pits. Traffic has been avoiding using the gravel carriageway and driving on the table drains and batters. Surface is unacceptable as driving surface.The best engineering solution is to undertake gravel re-sheeting to cover the worst section between chainage 4.20 - 9.11 km to restore formation as an acceptable driving surface for local residents access in Kintore community. This should solve the problem that is currently being experienced at Kintore.Total cost of proposed project is $1,279,086
McDonald Road, Woodanilling - 104769-19WA-RTR
Gully erosion on southern shoulder and across road.Reinstate and stabilise drainage line and southern shoulder. Install bunding, erosion control measures to reduce water velocity and additional culverts to divert water across road.
Toowoomba to Seymour - New South Wales
The Toowoomba to Seymour Corridor is a critical link in Australia’s freight transport network. This investment will deliver targeted upgrades along the Toowoomba to Seymour Corridor in New South Wales, including the Newell Highway, which contributes to the competitiveness of Australia's agriculture and mining sectors. The upgrades are designed to address issues impacting the performance of this critical freight corridor including barriers to the adoption of High Productivity Vehicles, safety concerns, flood resilience, localised congestion and insufficient overtaking opportunities. There are currently 14 committed projects on the corridor. See list below. County Boundary Road - The Australian Government is committing $9.8 million towards the upgrade of the Country Boundary Road in the Gwydir Shire to cater for future demands, including increased capacity to support Inland Rail construction.  Entrance to Mugincoble Silos Access Road - The Australian Government is committing $3.8 million towards the realignment of the current intersection and approaches to the Mugincoble Silos on Eugowra Road.  Forbes Iron Bridge Upgrade - The Australian Government is committing $36.0 million towards the construction of a new bridge over the Lachlan River, as well as a new road alignment between Lachlan Valley Way and The Escort Way near Forbes.  Moree Intermodal Overpass - The Australian Government is committing $35.2 million towards the construction of the Moree. Intermodal Overpass, as well as associated road infrastructure to link the overpass to the Newell Highway in the west and to Bullus Drive in the east.  Newell Highway and Mitchell Highway Intersection Upgrade - $20 million in Australian Government funding was committed towards the upgrade of the Newell Highway and Mitchell Highway intersection in Dubbo.  Newell Highway and Oxley Highway Intersection Upgrade - The Australian Government is committing $32.0 million towards the upgrade of the Newell Highway and Oxley Highway intersection near Coonabarabran.  Pilliga Road Upgrade  - The Australian Government is committing $5.0 million towards upgrading Pilliga Road in Narrabri Shire.  Purlewaugh Road Upgrade - The Australian Government is committing $2.8 million towards upgrading 10 kilometres of Purlewaugh Road, and the provision of a safer east west connection between Coonabarabran and Quirindi.  Peak Hill Road Upgrade ‘Part 1’ - The Australian Government is committing $8.6 million towards the widening and sealing of approximately 16 kilometres of Peak Hill Road within the Cabonne Shire.  Peak Hill Road Upgrade ‘Part 2’ - The Australian Government is committing $7.8 million towards the widening and sealing of approximately 16 kilometres of Peak Hill Road within the Parkes Shire.  Upgrades to Hargraves Lane and Federation Street - The Australian Government is committing $32.0 million towards upgrading the intersections of Hargraves Lane and Federation Street to the Newell, Oxley and Castlereagh Highways in Gilgandra. Newell Highway - Mungle Back Creek to Boggabilla - Stage 2 - $81.1 million in Australian Government funding was committed towards the widening of the existing formation and providing an improved heavy duty pavement on the Newell Highway between Mungle Back Creek and Boggabilla. Tooraweenah Road Upgrade - the Australian Government has committed $23 million towards updgrading Tooraweenah Road. In addition to the above, the Australian Government announced that it will contribute $50 million on 10 January 2023 for the project: Newell Highway Flood Immunity - West Wyalong to Forbes. This funding will be formalised in the May 2023-24 Budget.
Eyre Peninsula Network
This project will include: -Pavement upgrades and shoulder sealing on six high priority areas along the Eyre Peninsula Network. -Construction of overtaking lanes on Lincoln Highway, Western Approach Road, Flinders Highway and Tod Highway. -Intersection improvements at four roundabouts on Liverpool Street in Port Lincoln and the installation of guard rails on targeted areas on Birdseye Highway between Cleve and Cowell.
Tennant Creek to Townsville - Queensland
This project will deliver targeted upgrades to the Queensland section of the Barkly Highway, Flinders Highway and surrounding roads.
Tooraweenah Road Upgrade
This project will deliver upgrades along 27km of Tooraweenah Road. Upgrades include road sealing, road rehabilitation, widening, culvert upgrades and flood immunity.
