Wongan Hills-Cadoux Road, Rural Road - 053442-14WA-RTR
The shoulders on this section of road need to be repaired and widened due to being badly degraded by high level of heavy traffic.Rebuild and widen gravel shoulders to 7.0 meters on this section of road.
Reid Avenue, Hectorville (Campbelltown Council) - 129258-24SA-RTR
The current deterioration of the road surface has resulted in a rough and uneven driving experience, creating safety hazards for both vehicles and pedestrians. Inadequate drainage has led to frequent flooding and water damage, further compromising safety and the road's longevity. Additionally, the absence of proper kerbing has contributed to vehicle encroachment and unclear road boundaries, worsening the overall condition and functionality of the road. The proposed work involves resurfacing the section of Reid Avenue between St Bernards Road and Laver Street, which requires reconstruction to maintain an acceptable level of service (LOS). This project will address key issues, including replacing the road pavement and kerbing, improving the road shape for better drainage and rideability, and enhancing connections to key destinations and the arterial road network. Balance of funds for project being provided by Campbelltown Council.Total cost of proposed project is $1,510,000
Carcuma Road, Tintinara (Coorong District Council) - 129260-24SA-RTR
The current unsealed road pavement on Carcuma Road is deteriorating rapidly due to high volumes of heavy vehicle traffic, creating safety hazards and placing a significant maintenance burden on the small regional council. Additionally, there are geometric safety concerns that need to be addressed, including the introduction of curve widening, super-elevation, and improved vertical alignment. Currently, access for 36.5 m vehicles is restricted by permit, limiting industry use of the road. This project aims to seal the road to a standard suitable for 36.5 m heavy vehicles, incorporating appropriate curve widening and shoulders to enhance safety and accessibility. The work involves upgrading the road from an 8-metre-wide unsealed pavement to a 10-metre total pavement with an 8-metre seal width. This upgrade will include improved road alignment, curve widening, and enhanced safety features. Additionally, the road will be widened to accommodate 36.5 metre vehicles, with appropriate shoulders added to address geometric safety concerns. Balance of project costs being provided by Coorong District Council.Total cost of proposed project is $1,950,000
Riverview Drive, Berri (Berri Barmera Council) - 129254-24SA-RTR
Riverview Drive was severely damaged during the 2022/23 floods due to an earthen levee built on the road to safeguard local residences and the community. This damage involved the degradation of the bitumen surface and clay road base infiltration, causing seepage during floods. The road requires restoration, along with enhancements to ensure immediate repairs and improved resilience against future floods. The proposed work involves the extensive repair and upgrade of Riverview Drive. The project includes removing the damaged bitumen and clay road base that resulted from flood-related issues. Following this, the road will be reconstructed using a suitable PM2 32/25 product to replace the removed materials. The roadway will then be reshaped and sealed with a 14/7 seal. Balance of funds for project to be provided by Berri Barmera Council.Total cost of proposed project is $1,799,000
Kulde Road, Tailem Bend (Coorong District Council) - 129263-24SA-RTR
The road is in poor condition due to a deteriorated seal. This has resulted in safety issues for heavy vehicles and high maintenance costs. The section fails to meet the safety standards necessary for efficient and secure freight transport, adversely affecting both the roads functionality and the safety of its users. The proposed work involves applying a two-coat 14/7 mm reseal over the 12 kilometre stretch of Kulde Road to restore the surface and meet safety standards for heavy vehicles. This upgrade will enhance durability, reduce maintenance needs, and improve safety and efficiency for both freight and local traffic. By addressing issues such as potholes and edge breakaway, the project will significantly benefit the regional community, ensuring safer travel and reducing the risk of accidents. Balance of funds for project being provided by Coorong District Council.Total cost of proposed project is $1,050,000
Bowman Road, Wallaroo (Copper Coast Council) - 129274-24SA-RTR
Bowman Road is a 100 km/h zone with heavy and commuter traffic, currently lacking sealed shoulders and is too narrow. The approach to the Copper Coast Highway roundabout needs a 120 metre granular overlay and a deep lift of asphalt for correction. The road will be widened to 8.6 metres with sealed shoulders and resealed with a 16/7 mm spray seal for better skid resistance and safety. The proposed work on Bowman Road includes shoulder widening over the 2.3 km length to meet Department of Infrastructure and Transport standards, shape correction with a 50 mm granular overlay, a 185 mm deep lift at the approach to the roundabout, spray sealing with 16/7 mm over the entire 2.3 km length, and installation of line marking, guard posts, and reflectors. The balance of funds for the project will be provided by Copper Coast Council.Total cost of proposed project is $2,684,853
Bethel Road, Kapunda (Light Regional Council) - 129277-24SA-RTR
The work aims to address significant deficiencies in the current unsealed condition, which impacts safety and functionality as a Regionally Significant Freight Route. With only 1.5 km sealed, the remaining 12.5 km suffers from variable road quality and inadequate stormwater management, leading to flooding and hazards. The project includes extending the sealed section, implementing effective stormwater crossings, installing 950 m of guardrail for safety, and redesigning key intersections for better navigation. These enhancements will improve road safety, connectivity between Horrocks Highway and Thiele Highway, and overall infrastructure standards in the Kapunda region. The proposed work addresses issues by fully sealing Bethel Road, enhancing drainage, installing guardrails, and improving intersections. With pavement works, including underground stormwater crossings, and sealing now complete, the project has reached practical completion. These upgrades align Bethel Road with regional transport standards and enhance freight efficiency by improving safety, surface quality, and road clarity. The balance of funds for the project will be provided by Light Regional Council.Total cost of proposed project is $1,800,000
Hodgson Terrace, Collie - 129307-24WA-RTR
Road wear layer worn down to road base in some locations, excessive potholing.Reseal, some minor milling.
Porter Street, Collie - 129309-24WA-RTR
Road seal worn down to basecourse in many location, excessive potholing and wear.Reseal. Balance of funds to be made up of Shire funding.Total cost of proposed project is $59,000
Steere Street North, Collie - 129310-24WA-RTR
Areas of ongoing subsidence to road, potholing.Milling and profiling, resealing, and line-marking. Balance of funds to be made up of Shire funding.Total cost of proposed project is $23,000
