Australian Privacy Principle 5 Notice

Your submission, including any personal information supplied, is being collected by the department for the purpose of seeking public and industry comment on the approach and content of its proposed cost estimation guidance, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (the Privacy Act).

Menzies Northwest road has deteriorated through loss of fines resulting in the inability to maintain the surface in a bound condition leading to surface failures such as potholes and corrugations. The road requires reconstruction, reconditioning of pavement using a suitable gravel and sealing. The horizontal and vertical geometry will also be addressed to improve driver safety.Reconstruct, recondition pavement and seal including horizontal and vertical geometry improvement and enhanced pavement design over lake crossing to mitigate potential salt damage.Total cost of proposed project is $1,286,736

Lakes Road (Rural Road) - 061301-15NSW-RTR

This section of gravel road has a poorly formed surface and poor drainage, with the intersection of Jones Road not meeting the current requirements for site distance, safety and turning movements. Due to the high frequency of heavy vehicle movements, the existing gravel surface rapidly deteriorates into potholes and becomes corrugated. The road is used by many heavy vehicles, including B-Doubles and Road Trains servicing the agricultural and horticultural industries, acting as a northern bypass for the City of Griffith. The surface is detrimental to the quality of produce transported to major centres, creating dust and a safety issue for the travelling public.The intersection of Lakes Road & Jones Road requires realignment. The 2400m section of Lakes Road is to be realigned, constructed and sealed to a formation width of 9.4m and sealed width of 8.0m.Adjustment to utilities and drainage structures is also requiredTotal cost of proposed project is $1,195,368
