Injune Road Upgrade
Led by Banana Shire Council, the project will upgrade approximately 18km of high priority sections of Injune Road, including pavement widening, sealing, drainage improvements, and line marking.Sections of this road are in poor condition and impassable following wet weather. Upgrades will improve road user safety, connectivity between the communities of Injune and Taroom, and improve access for tourism, agriculture, and gas industries. The project will improve the connectivity of all road users, particularly heavy vehicles, and facilitate economic opportunities for industries such as freight, agriculture, and gas.
Myola Road Upgrade
Led by the Charters Towers Regional Council, the project will progressively seal 5km of Myola Road, improve livestock industry routes, and ensure the road is safely trafficable all year round.Myola Road is a significant route for the livestock industry and is often in poor condition, with wet weather damaging unsealed sections of the road, causing significant delays for freight, and high road maintenance costs. Sealing upgrades will improve overall safety, wet weather access and useability for all vehicles, particularly heavy vehicles and livestock transport.
Dotswood Road Upgrade
Led by the Charters Towers Regional Council, the project will deliver pavement widening and sealing along Dotswood Road in the Charters Towers Region of North Queensland.Dotswood Road is a regionally important agricultural freight road, providing access to an Australian Defence Force training facility. Traffic volumes have grown beyond the level the road was originally constructed, deteriorating its condition. This has resulted in wet weather damage, significant maintenance requirements, and delays for graziers., The project will improve corridor-level reliability, safety and access for all road users, and greater connectivity of livestock to market.
Ootann Road Upgrade (Mareeba Section)
This project included various sections of progressive pavement widening and sealing works on the section of the Ootann Road within the Mareeba Shire Council.
