The road has no pavement formation and is down to natural surface which is very unsafe for motorists specially during the wet season. This road services two big cattle stations that operates multiple road trains each month. The road has vehicle mass and weight restriction during the wet season. Gravel Resheet.
The road was in a very poor state with two major "bogholes" affecting drivers along this route. The road also was overtopped with minor flooding on occasions. Overgrown trees encroaching on/over roadway. The road is being upgraded from an unsealed road to a sealed road with addition of new culverts and driveways to access farm properties which will also be used by trucks during the harvest period. This will assist use as the main tourist thoroughfare to Ben Hall's Cave Lookout. The road is jointly funded with Fixing Local Roads.
