Major Projects Business Case Fund

The Major Projects Business Case Fund (MPBCF) initiative supports the development of robust major project business cases for nationally significant projects and enables the Commonwealth to engage early with states and territories in planning processes to ensure broader Commonwealth objectives are considered as projects are developed.

In the 2023-24 Budget, the Australian Government committed an additional $200 million over 2 years into the MPBCF.

Your submission, including any personal information supplied, is being collected by the department for the purpose of seeking public and industry comment on the approach and content of its proposed cost estimation guidance, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (the Privacy Act).

Your personal information will be stored securely by the department. It may be used by the department to make further contact with you about the consultation process. Your personal information will not be disclosed to any other third parties, except in the circumstances outlined below.

Submissions, in part or full, including the name of the author may be published on the department's website or in the Government's response, unless the submission is confidential. Submissions will only be treated as confidential if they are expressly stated to be confidential. Confidential submissions will be kept securely and will only be disclosed in the following circumstances:

Existing pavement has been repaired (rehabilitation, premix works, crack sealing) and requires a seal to complete the works.Seal the existing (repaired) pavement with a polymer modified binder.
Sloane Street, Goulburn - 059405-15NSW-RTR
Lack of drainage and aged seal has oxidised and failed resulting in numerous pavement failures.Intersection strengthening, new kerb and gutter, subsoil drainage, stormwater pits and pipes. Arthur Street, Booleroo Centre - 059407-15SA-RTR
Repair the roadside from road verge to kerbing to improvement drainage for excessive volumes of water runoff and prevent continuous erosion. The roadside is currently inadequate to handle the cuurent water flow and creates large holes in roadside creating an unsafe roadside.Rip up and reseal roadside from road verge to kerb along Arthur Street, Booleroo Centre from the intersection of Edwin Street and Colin Street 350 meters each side, including intersection.
Callistemon Street, Wirrabara - 059409-15SA-RTR
To provide an all weather road access to residents within a township.Construct and Seal of Callistemon Street of 8 meters wide and 360 meters long.
Wooli Road (Rural Road) - 059411-15NSW-RTR
The road surface has commenced cracking and the old seal has oxidised due to age. The road surface requires resealing to continue protecting the road pavement.The proposed work will reseal 1,740 metres of Wooli Road.
Thomas Mitchell Drive, Wodonga,Vic,3690 - 059412-15VIC-RTR
Upgrade local road infrastructure to improve road safety. Existing road pavement shows significant areas of failure and distress. Turning movements into side roads are unprotected. Existing road seal width is undefined with gravel shoulders. Existing culvert crossing is undersized and increases flooding risk.Stage 5 of road reconstruction approximately between Wigg Street (chainage 880m) to Docking Street (chainage 1340m). Installation of a central median and intersection treatments, with the provision of bus, cycle lanes and pedestrian facilities. Works to including stripping of existing seal, pavement strengthening including subgrade replacement as required, new pavement widening and new sealing works and linemarking. Construction of new kerb and channel with associated drainage modifications. Major culvert upgrade.Total cost of proposed project is $1,000,000
