Major Projects Business Case Fund

The Major Projects Business Case Fund (MPBCF) initiative supports the development of robust major project business cases for nationally significant projects and enables the Commonwealth to engage early with states and territories in planning processes to ensure broader Commonwealth objectives are considered as projects are developed.

In the 2023-24 Budget, the Australian Government committed an additional $200 million over 2 years into the MPBCF.

Australian Privacy Principle 5 Notice

Your submission, including any personal information supplied, is being collected by the department for the purpose of seeking public and industry comment on the approach and content of its proposed cost estimation guidance, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (the Privacy Act).

Your personal information will be stored securely by the department. It may be used by the department to make further contact with you about the consultation process. Your personal information will not be disclosed to any other third parties, except in the circumstances outlined below.

Submissions, in part or full, including the name of the author may be published on the department's website or in the Government's response, unless the submission is confidential. Confidential submissions (including author name) will not be published. Private addresses and contact details will not be published or disclosed to any third parties unless required by law.

Submissions will only be treated as confidential if they are expressly stated to be confidential. Confidential submissions will be kept securely and will only be disclosed in the following circumstances:

Truro Road, Moculta - 059846-15SA-RTR
Increased traffic flows due to development and access to regional townships with The Barossa Council and Mid Murray Council requires the road surface to be sealed.Two coat spray seal - 14mm/7mm, 2315 meters at a width of 8.5 meters, as part of Council's reseal program to upgrade the surface and improve road safety.Total cost of proposed project is $342,584
Ramsay Street, Cloncurry - 059847-15QLD-RTR
The whole of Ramsay Street (between Station Street and the Barklay Highway) is required to be resurfaced, road surface levels corrected and subsequent drainage and kerbing upgraded. State will be responsible for costs associated with running lanes while Cloncurry Shire will undertake sealing of centre, right and left parking lanes, restoration and replacement of kerbing and channelling and restore/upgrade underground drainage system.Upgrading/rehabilitation of 737m of Ramsay Street (right and left sides as well as centre parking) - works to include resurfacing and correction of road level, restoration and replacement of kerbing and channelling to suit road corrections as well as upgrading/restoration to existing underground stormwater and drainage system for this section for road.Total cost of proposed project is $706,665
James Road, Mundubbera Queensland - 059849-15QLD-RTR
Existing surface is very bull-dusty in dry weather conditions causing visibility issues.Gravel resheet with superior quality gravel to an all weather gravel surface
East Woodmillar Road, Gayndah Queensland - 059850-15QLD-RTR
Gravel is slippery in wet weather.Gravel resheet with superior gravel to provide a non slip surface.
Yenda Road, Gayndah Queensland - 059851-15QLD-RTR
Slippery surface in wet weather resulting in no grip for vehicle traction.Gravel resheet with a superior gravel to provide a non slip surface.
School Lane, Ross Creek (Rural Road) - 059852-15VIC-RTR
Existing narrow gravel road carrying increased traffic volumes, requires additional pavement and width to improve capacity and safety. Deficiencies being addressed are pavement failures, pot holes and drainage improvement.200mm thick gravel resheet, widen and seal to 5m wide.
Hardies Hill Road, Garibaldi (Rural Road) - 059853-15VIC-RTR
Existing narrow gravel road carrying increased traffic volumes, requires additional pavement and width to improve capacity and safety. Deficiencies being addressed are drainage improvements, pot holes, corrugations and poor surface quality.100mm gravel resheet, widen, cement stabilised the gravel pavement and seal at a width of 6.2m wide in accordance with Council's Road Strategy.
Ballan-Meredith Road, Meredith (Rural Road) - 059854-15VIC-RTR
Existing 6.2m wide sealed road that has been identified for renewal due to its poor condition rating. Deficiencies being addressed are, pavement failure, pot holes and ride-ability.150mm crush rock resheet and seal to 6.2m wide in accordance with Council's Road strategy.
Sago Hill Road, Haddon (Rural Road) - 059855-15VIC-RTR
Rehabilitation of an existing poor condition intersection at the Haddon Roundabout. Deficiencies being addressed are crocodile cracking, pot holes and pavement failure.100mm deep lift asphalt rehabilitation of the existing pavement.
Terrier Road, Inverleigh (Rural Road) - 059856-15VIC-RTR
Terrier Road has the presence of a rail crossing with associated safety issues of poor sight distances, steep approaches to the crossing and high maintenance requirements.Reconstruct Terrier Road so that the approaches to the rail crossing are improved and seal to 6.2m wide.
