Major Projects Business Case Fund

The Major Projects Business Case Fund (MPBCF) initiative supports the development of robust major project business cases for nationally significant projects and enables the Commonwealth to engage early with states and territories in planning processes to ensure broader Commonwealth objectives are considered as projects are developed.

In the 2023-24 Budget, the Australian Government committed an additional $200 million over 2 years into the MPBCF.

Australian Privacy Principle 5 Notice

Your submission, including any personal information supplied, is being collected by the department for the purpose of seeking public and industry comment on the approach and content of its proposed cost estimation guidance, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (the Privacy Act).

Your personal information will be stored securely by the department. It may be used by the department to make further contact with you about the consultation process. Your personal information will not be disclosed to any other third parties, except in the circumstances outlined below.

Submissions, in part or full, including the name of the author may be published on the department's website or in the Government's response, unless the submission is confidential. Submissions will only be treated as confidential if they are expressly stated to be confidential. Lack of pavement thickness which in turn leads to slippery conditions when wet and does not allow for proper drainage. This deterioration also causes pot holes corrugations and rubbling.Resheeting with crushed rubble to a thickness of 100mm. (23km in length by 6.5m wide)
Wehl Street North, Mount Gambier SA - 058821-15SA-RTR
The existing pavement is showing signs of failing (cracked seal, evidence of pavement coming up through the seal coat)Remove 50-60mm of existing pavement (including the existing seal) and replace with hotmix - this will strengthen the pavement and provide a smooth driving surface. Replace line marking. Repair any damaged guttering as part of this project.

B Double log trucks use the roundabout to do a U turn and drag the trailer wheels over the kerb of the roundabout and are digging out all the vegetation and causing dust issues.Remove existing roundabout kerb and soil from behind the kerb and replace with a low profile kerb and reinforced concrete apron that is trafficable by large vehicles.Total cost of proposed project is $27,749

Murdoch Drive, South Hedland - 058829-15WA-RTR
Murdoch Drive is a single lane carriageway road, connecting North Circular Road to Forrest Circle. This road serves as a local distributor road and connects five different roads between the intersection of Forrest Circle and North Circular Road. During peak traffic times there are delays in right turn traffic movements from Murdoch Drive into Captains Way and right turn traffic movements from Captains Way into Murdoch Drive, due to a high traffic volume on Murdoch Drive. Although primarily occurring during peak traffic times, the Town is concerned that it could create unsafe traffic movements and/or inappropriate driver behaviour.Hyder Consulting investigated and made a recommendation to upgrade the existing intersection to a roundabout to resolve all these issues. The benefits of a roundabout include an overall reduction in both vehicle and vehicle/pedestrian collisions, lower travel speeds, reduced delay from reduced stopping times and improved traffic flow.Total cost of proposed project is $485,650
