Broome - Cape Leveque Road
The Broome - Cape Leveque Road provides the main transport link through the Dampier Peninsula. The road supports access for tourists, pearling and farming industries and local communities. The project will build on previous investments to seal the road and will realign and seal approximately 90km of the Broome - Cape Leveque Road. The works will also include drainage improvements including culverts, fauna underpasses and floodways.
Buntine Highway Road Upgrading - Project Development and Delivery Phase
The Buntine Highway is a rural arterial road which runs from the Victoria Highway to the Western Australian border. Approximately 336km of the Highway is sealed, with 222km predominantly unsealed. This project will build on existing investments by the Australian and Northern Territory governments by upgrading more than 54km of the Buntine Highway. These works will include flood immunity and safety improvements, sealing, and, pavement strengthening and widening of sections of the Highway.
Capricorn Highway (Rockhampton - Duaringa) Rockhampton to Gracemere Duplication
The Capricorn Highway is Central Queensland's principal east-west freight corridor and is part of Australia's national Key Freight Route network. The Highway also forms part of Queensland's drive-tourism network, linking the Capricorn Coast to Outback Queensland. This project will duplicate (widen from two-lanes to four-lanes) approximately 5km of the Highway between Rockhampton and Gracemere. This project is one of a number of commitments made by the Australian Government to undertake works on the Capricorn Highway.
Flinders Highway (Charters Towers – Richmond) Culvert upgrades (Package 1)
The Flinders Highway is a high-productivity freight route, which forms part of the National Land Transport Network, linking agricultural and mining activities to the processing and export facilities in Townsville. The scope of works for this project includes replacing seven culverts, which are past their design life and are showing signs of structural fatigue on the section of the Highway between Charters Towers and Richmond. This project is one of two packages of work being funded under the Northern Australia Roads Program on the Flinders Highway.
Flinders Highway (Townsville – Torrens Creek) Pavement Strengthening and Rehabilitation (Package 1)
The Flinders Highway is a high-productivity freight route, which forms part of the National Land Transport Network, linking agricultural and mining activities to the processing and export facilities in Townsville. The scope of works for this project includes undertaking approximately 8km of pavement strengthening and rehabilitation works, in order to remedy failing and deteriorating pavements, and to improve access condition, safety and asset resilience on the section of the Highway between Townsville and Torrens Creek. This project is one of two packages of work being funded under the Northern Australia Roads Program on the Flinders Highway.
Keep River Plains Road Upgrade
The Keep River Plains Road upgrade delivered approximatley 30 kilometres of sealed road in the north-west of the Northern Territory, through to Legune Station, including two bridges over Keep River and Sandy Creek. This upgrade strengthens transport connections for agriculture, resources and pastoral industries – creating opportunities for future investment and more jobs for the region. It enhances the prospects for major enterprises such as project Sea Dragon and an extensionto the iconic Ord Valley Development Stage 3.
Kennedy Developmental Road (Mount Garnet – The Lynd) Pavement Widening
The scope of works for this project included widening (from single-lane to two-lane seal) over 3 kilometres of the Kennedy Developmental Road between Mount Garnet and the Lynd. The entire length of the Kennedy Developmental Road between Mt Garnett and the Lynd is now a two-lane standard seal.
Kennedy Developmental Road (The Lynd – Hughenden) Progressive Sealing
The section of the Kennedy Developmental Road between the Lynd and Hughenden is locally known as the Hann Highway. The Hann Highway is a partially sealed road with intra-regional access. The scope of works for this project includes sealing approximately 42 kilometres of unsealed sections on the Hann Highway. This project is one of two packages of works on the Kennedy Developmental Road funded under the Northern Australia Roads Program.
Landsborough Highway (Longreach – Winton) - Pavement Widening and Strengthening (Package 1)
The Landsborough Highway is part of the National Land Transport Network between Brisbane and Darwin and is the principal north-south route serving western Queensland. The project involves upgrading approximately 25km of the Landsborough Highway between Longreach and Winton, to improve the narrow and deteriorating pavement and drainage structures and, increase safety and asset resilience. Sections of the road with rough and narrow pavement will be prioritised under these works on the Landsborough Highway between Dingo Creek and Darr River.
